At that meeting they decided to form a Veterans of Foreign Wars post. The initial installations of officers was held on April 28, 1946. The post met at the high school until April 24th, 1947 when the meetings were moved to Irving Hugunine’s garage. For a more complete history of the first 50 years click on "Post History from the 1996 Golden Anniversary Commemorative Book" under Items of Interest in the right hand column. Construction started July 4th, 1972 and was completed by 1976. All of the work was done by post members. In 1993 the bar was moved downstairs. In August of 2003 construction began on the new addition and was completed in April of 2004.
